Priyanka Chopra is surely the most stunning star of the Bollywood. She is the superstar in making. Her ventures and projects at least indicate so. Very recently Madhuri’s no to a project got an approval from Priyanka. She is all set to play the role of the greatest Indian political leader Indira Gandhi on screen. Krishna Shah, the Indian origin US filmmaker, first approached the sensational Madhuri dixit to play the role of Indira Gandhi. But Madhuri refused to work on the project. The next choice was Priyanka Chopra, to which Priyanka said yes. Now the audience will be seeing Priyanka essaying the role of Indira Gandhi on screen.
News goes like this. Krishna’s first choice for the role of Indira Gandhi was Madhuri Dixit but she had to refuse to the project as her mother in law is in not keeping well these days and this Indian bahu wants to look after her ailing mother in law. (Wow Madhuri! Playing an Indian bahu) the next choice that Krishna had was Priyanka Chopra. She was deemed as the most suitable replacement for Madhuri.
This biopic film will portray Priyanka as Indira Gandhi. Krishna is working on the cast of the film along with Academy Award winning make-up artiste Jenny Shircore. Jenny maintains that Priyanka’s face is just perfect to match the powerful character of Indira Gandhi. In a statement Krishna said, “Yes, I am in conversation with Jenny who thinks that Priyanka is the one who can fit in the character of Indira, but it will be too premature to talk about casting as we have not approached anybody as yet,”
The film is titled, ‘Mother: The Indira Gandhi story’. It is divided into two parts. The first part of the film will narrate the life and political career of Indira Gandhi and the later half will be dealing with her two sons Rajiv and Sanjay Gandhi.
The film is going to be a mega project as it has some big names associated with it like Albert Finney, Emily Watson, Tom Hanks and Tommy Lee Jones who play other characters in the film. The script of the film had undergone some changes. He has to rework on the film’s script after he got some personal tapes of Richard Nixon that are related to 1971 Bangladesh war. He researched thoroughly and then changed the script after much speculation. Krishna was quoted saying, “The script has been reworked after I got my hands on Richard Nixon’s personal tapes related to the 1971 Bangladesh War. My research has changed the script a lot and now we are looking at casting an appropriate face for Indira Gandhi’s character.”
The audience is eagerly waiting to see the new avatar of Priyanka in the role of Indira Gandhi.
