Priyanka Chopra Strongly feels about Child Rights and Adolescents as she becomes Brand Ambassador of UNICEF
Our piggy chops is soaring high these days. She has joined in the comrade of Amitabh Bachchan and Sharmila Tagore. How? Well, UNICEF has officially announced that Priyanka Chopra would be its brand Ambassador for child rights and adolescents. Now this glam doll would be standing for children rights in India and overseas. Recently at the signing ceremony in Delhi she has expressed her excitement to be a part of the cause. To quote her in her own words, “I am much honored to formalize my association with UNICEF as their National Ambassador to help bring awareness for child rights and adolescence.”
This selection of Priyanka Chopra has made nation feel proud on her and it is warmly welcomed by Ministry of Women and Child Development Secretary D. K. Sikri and UNICEF Representative Karin Hulshof. A former Miss world in the year 2002, Priyanka Chopra herself feels strongly about the issue and so is exhilarated to stand up for the cause.
As a brand ambassador for UNICEF, Priyanaka Chopra will stand for the child rights, early Marriage and Adolescent girls’ life skills. She was noted saying, I can lend my voice for disseminating the crucial message that all children, irrespective of caste, color, sex and religion, have a right to live, eat, attend schools and fulfill their aspirations.”
After making a power packed debut in the Bollywood industry, she has been doing films where her characters are real, strong and potential enough to stimulate thought processes. Besides grabbing many awards in her name she has successfully bagged a prestigious award of Best Actress at National Film Award. Another feather in her cap was her association with UNICEF since 2008 where she had been taking part in the events implicitly.
Ever since then she had been a actively seen in a number of public service announcements, propagating girl’s education and her presence was seen at the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Also her active initiation in media panel discussion where she promoted child rights is noteworthy.
Being a celebrity UNICEF Ambassador she will exhibit commitment to improve children’s lives at various levels in varied strata of society.
