Slated to release worldwide on 10th December, is a romantic comedy from the Yash Raj Banner. A theme which has been a real spice of all time romantic movies of Bollywood for ages, has been re-dealt with a pinch of freshness in Band Baaja Baaraat. The theme is of ‘Opposite Attracts” where one character (of course Anushka) is more focused and organized than the other (our desi munda Ranveer Singh).
If by sheer chance you get to realize that you are enjoying a potpourri of ‘10 Things I Hate About You’, ‘Bringing Up Baby’, ‘No Reservations’, ‘You’ve Got Mail’ and many alike then it is not your mistake actually. The theme involves two characters who are poles apart and apparently incompatible with each other. However, they fail to resist themselves from falling in each other’s love despite all odds. Perhaps they both ‘lived happily ever after’.
The female lead of the movie, Anushka Sharma plays a typical Delhi based Punjabi girl. She is ‘crude but cute’. Through this movie, which is actually “very much a young love story set in Delhi” (as Anushka sums up the film), the debutant actor, Ranveer Singh makes promising entry in the Bollywood fraternity.
Shot in the exotic locations of Delhi, Mumbai and Subhash Nagar, the film is a real promising one. The audience would love to watch the dramatic sequences when a next-door girl happens to meet a happy-go-lucky spoilt brat. As all love stories, this one also attracts to complete the magnet.
The young 20 year old Shruti Kakkar (Anushka Sharma), who is a final year student of Delhi University, is a career oriented and an ambitious girl. Bitto Sharma (Ranveer Singh) who accompanies her in her ventures is also a Delhi University’s student. Bitto is a squanderer and prefers to live his life to its fullest with his pals.
Incidentally, the two jump in the business of a wedding planning and become wedding planners, but certainly with a rule ‘Don’t mix business with pleasure’ (which of course are meant to be broken). There starts their journey of introduction into the world of pomp and show of Delhi Weddings. Their friendship test also starts with their business.
Will the two be successful to make their friendship work or will they fall in love? How far the two successfully manage their business and plans the weddings would be a real pleasure to see. Check out the movie to find whether they mix business with pleasure?
