If you are a big fan of Madhur Bhandarkar then be geared up to see the director in a different avatar, as he has tried his hands and directed a fun filled comedy flick for the first time. This new genre for Madhur is quite interesting. He has tried something new for the first time and we are sure he will be successful at this even. Remember ‘Chandni Bar’, ‘Page 3’, ‘Corporate’ and ‘Fashion’ , where he had casted a spell on his audience and fans by the super duper success at not only the box office but the critics also.
This time Madhur is ready with his comedy film ‘Dil to Bachcha Hai Ji’ where he is working with entire new cast for him. The film features Ajay Devgan, Omi Vaidya (3 Idiots fame) and Emraan Hashmi. Ajay plays a divorcee Naren aged 38, Omi is Milind who is in search of true love and our serial kisser is none other than a Casanova Abhay Suri. The film is a funny take on love and the perspective of these characters on love. Each one of them have different notion about Love, Sex and Money.
Produced by Kumar Mangat, the film is directed by the National Award winning Director Madhur Bhandarkar which according to him is “a humorous look at love and the extent people go to escape or attain it.” The music of the film is composed by ace Music Director Pritam.
Recently the first look of the film has been aired. Talking to the reporters about it he told that it was for the first time that he had attempted a romantic comedy. “It is a slice of life movie,” he was quoted saying.
“A listless Naren Ahuja (Ajay Devgan), well into his thirties and going through a divorce, falls in love with a vibrant and bubbly June Pinto (Shazahn Padamsee) who has just stepped out of her teens. Milind Kelkar (Omi Vaidya), a naive poet and an idealistic lover, is besotted by an ambitious and practical Gungun Sarkar (Shraddha Das) who is determined to follow her dreams and a charming Casanova Abhay (Emraan Hashmi), starts feeling an alien emotion called love, when he feels increasingly drawn towards Nikki (Shruti Hassan), a modern girl who knows her wants and speaks her mind,” he summed up the film.
These men struggle hard to find true love and cope up with the modern and contemporary relationships. Thus they are seen on a roller coaster ride of emotions where sometimes they are on high and sometimes on low.
Finally Madhur said, “But will they succeed in their quest for happiness or love? Or does destiny have different plans for them – that is the crux of this story.”
You guys can check out the movie on 28th January 2011 and see how amazing a film Madhur has made.
