Sudhir Mishra is ready with his next release in the row and his upcoming venture is a heist drama, an easy bait and the sure shot formula for commercial success at the box office. Hitting the theaters soon is ‘Tera Kya Hoga Johnny’. Besides directing the film Sudhir has produced the film along with Tutu Sharma and Manu Kumaran. The music enhances the flavor of a Bollywood film, and for this movie Pankaj Awasthi, Abhishek Ray and Ali Azmat have given some pleasing numbers.
The title character Johnny is played by Sikander Agarwal. He is a migrant kid who earns his bread by serving tea. Due to his daily routine he has rendezvous with many kinds of customers like drug addict Vishal (Karan Nath), Begum the trans-gender ‘madam’ operating a brothel, Chiple (Kay Kay Menon), a corrupt police officer, Parvez (Neil Nitin Mukesh) and a model cum actor Preeti (Soha Ali Khan) who shares a live in relationship with Parvez. Johnny’s dream is to work in Dubai and hopes that someday one of his customers would help him find a better life. All these characters along with Preeti being the interest of the owner of a TV network have some semblance in Johnny’s life.
Sudhir introduces many characters and the plot gets hampered by too many sub-plots. The cameos by Sudhir Mishra and Anurag Kashyap, roots for Johnny. Each of the characters of the film is depicted in the way Johnny perceives them.
The film might not be categorized as a typical a gritty robbery movie. Sudhir Mishra has once again very gracefully provided rich topographical details of Mumbai, exposing the vagaries of a city fractured by the socio-economic class system.
If you are a Sudhir Mishra’s fan then you will certainly not walk out unpleased after seeing ‘Tera Kya Hoga Johnny’.
