Even before its release, ‘Dum Maro Dum’ had been constantly in news for the controversial song of the year done by Deepika Padukone. There were many protests by some of the people who said that the movie showcases Goa as a place for drug addiction. However, the film released on this Friday and shockingly did pretty well at the box office. It is estimated to be a good opener film for this year with a mass appeal and appreciation.
Besides other cast of the film, Bips is excited about the movie and her character as well. She is content to play the character she has been offered in the film. The tagline of the film is ‘kya hai kahaani tere paap ki’ (what’s the story of your wrong doing) which is true for the character of Zoe played by Bipasha.
“That’s right,” says Bipasha, “Everyone has a past to show and something that deserves a punishment. Zoe is not spared either. And then there are two other stories from the past for Abhishek and Prateik. All of them come together to reach a common culmination.”
The film has characters that are true to life as they are not all white but a mix of black and white who carry baggage of their gloomy and dark part. Zoe is not an exception to it.
“Zoe depicts the fun element of Goa,” Bipasha lights up here, “She is someone who is a hippie, is fun loving, a romantic who believes in love and is also quite ambitious. Her life takes a turn for worse when something goes wrong that leads to an all around transformation. In fact she is the very crux of the city.”
Hmm Bipasha, now when the film is released everyone would love to see you scorching the silver screen by your performance and doing justice to your role as you have done in your earlier films.
