Kalki Koechlin is all set to marry her two year old live-in beau Anurag Kashyap on April 30th. This January the couple got engaged and is planning to marry in hometown of either of them. They may tie the knot either in Varanasi which happens to be the hometown of Anurag or in Pondicherry which is Kalki’s hometown.
A source said, “Anurag and Kalki Koechlin are in love and want to get married. Their parents have fixed April 30 as an auspicious date. The couple wants a quiet family affair with a simple wedding ceremony away from the media hype and so, haven’t informed anyone. Anurag was to go for a trial of Amole Gupte’s Stanley Ka Dabba as both have been good friends for many years but Kashyap cancelled at last minute saying he had to attend fittings for his wedding sherwani.”
Anurag is an extremely reserved kind of a person. But nothing is hidden from media. When asked about his wedding, he shockingly confirmed, “Yes, I am getting married on April 30 and have taken leave from all my commitments for 10 days. Our wedding is a personal affair and will be attended by only family and very close friends. I am leaving tomorrow and that’s why I am in a hurry to get my wedding outfits done. It will be a simple ceremony.”
The couple didn’t confirm their relationship or engagement for long in public, but by this announcement and reported engagement, they have grabbed many eyeballs. Kalki Koechlin had met Anurag’s family in Varanasi when they were shooting for Anurag’s forthcoming directorial, ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’.
This is though the second marriage for Anurag, as he was earlier married to Aari Bajaj who was film editor and they have a daughter Aaliya, he is excited about his marriage and an equally elated Kalki told media about her preparations for the Big Day.
She revealed, “I will have a very simple wedding in a traditional South Indian style at my mother’s house in Ooty. So I am not inviting anyone. It’s going to be family affair. We will have a reception later.”
However, not everyone from her family will be able to attend the wedding. “My sister who lives in France just got married, spent lavishly on her wedding and cannot afford to take any more leave. I told her that we’d pay for her travel but she says she has to work now,” Kalki added.
This young actress also offered details about her bridal trousseau. “I am going to wear a traditional white-and-red sari and Anurag is wearing a traditional dhoti. He has no choice,” she said. “His daughter is happy for us,” she concluded.
All is well that ends well… isn’t it Kalki Koechlin!
