It came as a complete surprise that Not A Love Story could have done so well at the box office.
When asked how she felt about the whole thing, Mahie replied excitedly, “I am in complete awe that Not A Love Story could have done so well at the box office. I have been overwhelmed with appreciations pouring in from my supporters as well as the film fraternity. It feels really good to be noticed for your skills and hence I am quite excited with what has happened.”
The film, which was shot in merely twenty days, was received quite well by the audience. If you ask Mahie Gill that films made in such a hurry do not usually bring out the best in an actor, she says, “I thought the same and was wondering whether I would be able to do proper justice to my role and give appropriate expressions. However, after seeing the film and reading the great reviews we got for it, I believe the short shoot worked to our benefit.”
“Above this, I have a theatre background and so it really does not worry me that a film is completed in twenty days or a couple of hours. I thoroughly enjoyed doing the movie and the experience was completely wonderful,” added Mahie Gill.
How about shooting in the building, which seemed quite scary feel to you? “It was really eerie and terrifying shooting in the very building where the actual incident had occurred, on which “Not A Love Story is based. All kinds of weird thoughts crossed my mind whenever I looked at the building. Woh building dekhke mujhe ghabarahat hoti thi,” commented Mahie.
