Bollywood movie Tanu Weds Manu Sequel sequel is also set in Uttar Pradesh implying the audience will get to see more of exotic locations of the state.
‘Tanu Weds Manu’ fame director Aanand L Rai’s happiness knows no boundaries today. He has joined hands with Eros International Media Ltd (Eros International), India’s largest integrated film studio. The sequel of ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ is confirmed and Rai will be directing it soon.
Sunil Lulla Managing Director, Eros International Media Ltd. Reported about the developments in this way. He said, “After the delightful TANU WEDS MANU, we are looking forward to partner with Aanand Rai for Season 2. We are confident the sequel will be equally memorable and as entertaining as its predecessor.”
An extremely elated director Rai confirmed the news and said, “I am thrilled to join hands with Eros on this film. I am confident together we will make some very entertaining cinema. I hope to recreate the same magic with season 2 and reach out to global audiences with Eros’ fabulous network.”
Very soon Eros would announce the details of the movie sequel along with the entire cast and crew. However, one thing is sure, that the sequel would also be shot in cities of Uttar Pradesh. Lucknow and Kanpur will be the backdrop of sequel also. Though initially there were no plans of making a sequel of this movie.
So how come he thought of one? “While working on another project, I hit upon an interesting story idea – one that required the same characters and the same space if it had to be told. And so, it made sense to come up with a sequel,” Rai says.
But why U.P for shooting the sequel also? “The story, the people, the atmosphere is bringing us back,” says Rai. Hmm! Great indeed!
The writer of the film Himanshu Sharma is from Lucknow and is working on the sequel also. Revealing more on sequel of the film Himanshu says, “Aanand and I had been contemplating a sequel to “TWM” and only three days back we decided to go ahead with it. So now we are working out the final script.”
So can the audience expect the same element of fun and excitement as it was in the first part? “This time the story will be more crazy than the previous one. We’re going all out for a mad rom-com. The audience will love it,” reveals Himanshu.
The makers of the film are keen on having Maddy (read R. Madhavan) and Kangana for the lead roles in the sequel as well. But it is too early to say anything as things are in budding stage right now. Himanshu explains, “Since we have just hit upon the idea we are trying to work things out.”
